North America?s largest poetry festival includes readings, performances, and conversations by dozens of the leading, international voices in contemporary poetry, Including: U.S. Poets Laureate and Pulitzer Prize-winners Philip Levine and Natasha Trethewey, Pulitzer Prize-winner C. K. Williams, National Book Award winners Nikky Finney and Terrance Hayes, Chilean National Literature Prize winner Raul Zarita, Ireland?s Most Honored Woman Poet Eavan Boland, California Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera, and founder of the Black Arts Movement Amiri Baraka. newly announced poets to include Timothy Liu, Taylor Mali, Joseph Millar, Larissa Szporluk, and more than 30 additional published and award-winning poets. Program highlights include world premiere performance of selections from four-time National Grand Slam Champion Patricia Smith?s book-length sequence, Blood Dazzler, accompanied by musicians from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performing Wynton Marsalis?s ?At the Octoroon Balls? The Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma Returns to Asia: Concerts Will Take Place in South Korea, Macao, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore from April 18 through 30, 2010

For the first time in nearly six years, the critically acclaimed Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma will return to South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore during an April 2010 concert tour, which will also feature the Ensemble?s debut performances in Macao and Thailand. This series of concerts from April 18 through April 30 concludes the Silk Road Project?s 10th-anniversary celebration with performances in Seoul, South Korea; Macao; Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Bangkok, Thailand; and Singapore.
